Hey Teachers!

We asked parents about their children’s teachers, and asked teachers about their students. The resounding impression – kids are awesome, teachers are awesome, and it’s worth screaming about (or maybe writing some thank you notes).

Thank you for making learning so fun

“Thank you, Miss Aida, for the kindness, care, and joy you bring to the classroom, and for sharing your love of learning with my daughter.” – Sarah Lembke, Director of Customer Experience, Mightier

Thank you for seeing my child’s strengths

“My daughter has undiagnosed ADHD. Sitting still and paying attention in the classroom is difficult for her, but her teacher is WONDERFUL. She finds the things she likes, lets her get her wiggles out, and knows how to engage her in a way that really works. She sees my daughter trying and working hard, and makes sure she knows how important those strengths are.” – Jackie Clague, Clinical Research Coordinator, Mightier

Thank you for empowering my child

“At one of my schools, we had a mentorship program where middle schoolers would come back and present to our 5th graders about what middle school was like. In this group was one of my previous students, who had had some tough moments in the past. During the session, she was smiling and laughing and so happy to be able to answer the questions of the 5th graders. She shared that she never thought she would be considered a role model and yet now she was.” – Gaby Ortiz, K-5 Instructional Math Coach at the DiLoreto Magnet School in New Britain, CT.

Thank you for valuing kindness

“We have a program at our school called “Ambassador of Peace,” where we recognize students who show pro-social skills and consistently make safe and caring choices. I remember a student who worked hard all year and finally earned “Ambassador of Peace” in May. He was beaming at the ceremony and felt very proud of himself.” – Nicole Palmieri, Kindergarten Teacher at the John Breen School in Lawrence, MA.

Thank you for making big moments meaningful

“Mrs. F, you have made Kindergarten the best year ever! We’re so grateful for you!” – Sarah Lembke, Director of Customer Experience, Mightier

Thank you for building my child’s confidence and independence

“My favorite thing  about teaching is seeing the growth the students make in just one year. They grow not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. They learn to be more independent and start to form their own opinions and questions about the world.” – Gaby Ortiz, K-5 Instructional Math Coach at the DiLoreto Magnet School in New Britain, CT.

Thank you for caring about my child’s happiness

I love watching students laugh, read along, and develop a love for books and reading.” – Nicole Palmieri, Kindergarten Teacher at the John Breen School in Lawrence, MA.

Thank you for being you

“Thank you Ms. M., for having an infectious curiosity and energy for learning, and for helping my children feel understood and appreciated and inspired and loved.” – Suz Wintner, Lead Scientist, Mightier
